I’ve been busy with work, which is great, being employed and all and earning money…but it’s really eaten into my time for games and writing and writing about games.
I don’t know if I’ll do a bunch of individual reviews for this fest, honestly, a lot of the selection I grabbed kinda felt…eh. I tried a bunch of idlers, especially those taking after the Rusty’s Retirement style of sitting docked and I can’t say any really felt like they really landed for me. I did have some regular idle games fill my time.
How to Train your Cock surprised a few friends who saw it pop up on my Steam, because well, the names what it is. It’s extremely simple overall, but the arts bright and colourful and it amused me enough.
Fischer’s Fishing Journey featuring a fishing cat with some lovely art and chill vibes has been the other mainstay. I’ve fully upgraded my gear as much as I can in the demo, I’ve found some of the secret stuff I think…
Battle Suit Aces, one of the games Outersloth is publishing, is gorgeous and fun and gay and great. It’s a position based card battler of sorts, with a chunk of story to go with it’s campaign.
Astro Prospector stole a chunk of an evening away from me with it’s quick gameplay loop and upgrading and going back in to do more than you could before.
Same with eXoSpace Combat Engineer, but in that it took longer to play through it’s FTL styled map. It’s very heavily similar to Cosmoteer, another ship-builder I’ve enjoyed that plays out it’s missions differently. I do wish there was more carryover, or maybe just with the full version the game will carry on past the bounty and you’ll be able to design some of the grand ships you see in the trailer.
I think that’s it for today’s writing, there are certainly more games I tried to talk about, so I should try to find the time soon. I also don’t want to say that these are my top 5, just 5 I played and enjoyed enough to warrant talking about and kinda picked out of my list.
